Some information about me, David Hamm.
I began competing in high school math competitions in grade 9 but didn't really take competition seriously until grade 11 when I won the Waterloo County Junior Math League. That's when I realized that success in these competitions could reap huge benefits in my post-secondary education; increasing my options and providing financial support through scholarships.
Some of the awards I received:
Grade 11 - Waterloo County Junior Math League Champion
Grade 11/12 - Top 10% in Fermat and Euclid competitions
Grade 13 - Top 50 (42?) in Descartes competition
Grade 13 - Canada Scholar at University of Waterloo
Grade 13 - Descartes Scholar at University of Waterloo
Without my results on the CEMC math competitions I would not have received the scholarships, and would not have had the financial capacity to attend university.
